Our NGS open day is tomorrow and the forecast is for another hot and sunny day. Despite having had no rain since a deluge at the end of June the garden is looking really good. The lavender is superb this year - a ribbon of blue and white humming with bees. Lilies are coming out and smelling divine. Sedums, penstemons, salvias - all the mainstays of this dry garden are looking marvellous. i have never seen Buddleja Dartmoor with its dark purple racemes looking better. The annual white poppy, argemone grandiflora which is always much admired loves the heat. So we hope we will have plenty of visitors.
